The new coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in the city of Wuhan, People's Republic of China in December 2019 and has become a global epidemic by spreading worldwide. It was accepted as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020. According to the WHO's COVID-19 report; It is stated that deaths due to the virus usually occur in individuals with advanced age or chronic diseases (hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, chronic lung disease and immunodeficiency). It has been determined that 72% of those who lost their lives due to COVID-19 in the world have comorbidities. In addition, other striking data are; is that those who do not have any chronic disease are diagnosed with a chronic disease after being infected with COVID-19.
The fact that individuals with chronic diseases have a more difficult time during the COVID-19 pandemic, both psychologically and physiologically, and the increase in the number of individuals diagnosed with chronic diseases for the first time during the COVID-19 pandemic process, as well as the decrease in the age range, shows how important the issue is. There is no doubt that the undeniable relationship between chronic diseases and COVID-19 and studies on this subject will bring new perspectives to the health system in the coming days.
For this reason, this special issue aims to develop new perspectives that will reveal the relationship of COVID-19 with chronic diseases and evaluate the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation processes of the diseases.

Research Subjects include but are not limited to:

  1. (1)Evaluation of symptoms of individuals with chronic diseases during the COVID-19 pandemic
  2. (2)Studies of prevalence and demographic characteristics of individuals diagnosed with chronic disease after being infected with COVID-19
  3. (3)Evaluation of individuals with chronic illness infected with COVID-19
  4. (4)Physiological and psychological symptoms that occur after being infected with COVID-19 and continue chronically
  5. (5)Evaluation of current approaches in the treatment of chronic diseases in the COVID-19 pandemic
  6. (6)Effect of COVID-19 on cardiovascular system diseases
  7. (7)Impact of COVID-19 on respiratory system diseases
  8. (8)The effect of COVID-19 on diseases of the nephrological system
  9. (9)The effect of COVID-19 on neurological system diseases
